| Text | Written on a scrap of paper in DD/SK/4/4/6: John Skrine was born Bath February 21st 1811, married in August 1847 at St. Mary's, Bristol to Catherine Raddenbury. This family Charles, Thomas, Catherine, Sarah Emily, Mary Anne, George Henry and James Osborne:- John Skrine was an architect. Sarah Emily, born at Chepstow went to her uncle Raddenbury (on visit) in Australia. There she met and married William Vary and they were the parents of Fred Vary who came to Warleigh with his wife and daughter May 1949. George Henry and James Osborne also living Australia. James married Violet they had one son who helped receive Duke & Duchess of Gloucester, who died, and a daughter Bessie whose stepson Trevor came to England RAF and came to see us at Warleigh. | |
