  	A "Smock" Mill stood in Tolleshunt Major as early as 1729 and remained there until demolished in 1924. [Wikipedia] Daniel Nevill was a miller at Tolleshunt Major by 1771 until at least 1777, during which time Peter BRAND was his apprentice. Nevill might be the "David" Neville possibly mistranscribed in manor records and holding land later held by William BAKER.

  	Extract from Will of William Smith: [ERO Ref. 19BR34] "...I give and devise unto my daughter Sophia Baker widow all that piece of Land containing two Acres situate in Beckingham aforesaid now in the occupation of myself being part of the Land which I some time since purchased to me and my Heirs of the Commisioners appointed for the enclosing of the Waste Lands in the said Parish to have and to hold the said piece or parcel of Land with the Appurtenances from and immediately after my decease unto the said Sophia Baker her heirs and Assigns absolutely and for ever..."
