| Notes |
- In 1553, the Duke of Northumberland, foreseeing the early death of King Edward VI determined to secure the succession to his own family. He forced Lady Jane against her will, to marry his fourth son. Lady Jane Grey was proclaimed Queen by the Privy Council on 9 Jul 1553. Ten days later she was in the Tower and 4 months later sentenced to death for treason. Her Father's participation in Wyatt's revolt sealed her fate. Queen Mary refused mercy. Lady Jane and spouse were beheaded together. {Burke's Peerage and Chamber's Biographical Dictionary
