| Apprenticeship: The Examination of Peter Brand now residing in the parish of Little Totham in the said County miller taken on oath before us two of his majesty's Justices of the peace in the said County this fifth day of December 1786. Who saith on or about the eighth day of February 1771 He this Examinant was bound apprentice by Indenture to Daniel Nevill of Tolleshunt Major ["Beckingham" crossed out] in the said County miller for the term of seven years. That he served six years of his said apprenticeship in the said parish of Tolleshunt Major when he and his said master parted by consent. And this Examinant further saith that he hath done nothing since whereby to gain a settlement in any other parish or place to the best of his knowledge or belief. Sworn before us.
