Agreement Books MS 21310, Vol. 1 1869-1882

Limited (and incomplete) details of the business of the Bristol branch are recorded:
28 Oct 1869 Mr JAMES to retire as Local Manager. Mr. ANDERSON to be Local Manager £150 fixed salary + 2.5% on gross direct premiums of branch + 10% p.a. on gross profits.
8 Jun 1872 Mr ANDERSON's salary increased to £250 from 1 Jul 1871.
23 Jul 1875 Mr PERKINS appointed Local Manager salary £20 per month + 5% commission on net profits.
12 May 1882 Letter from Wm B. HEATON, Local Manager.

There is no mention of George GADD, but neither is there any mention of Wm HEATON's appointment. Yorkshireman HEATON had a son born in Northumberland in Q1 1876, and so had prseumably not arrived in Bristol by then.
www.measuringworth.com suggests that Mr. PERKINS's annual salary equated in 2006 to £15k + commission using RPI, or £116k + commission compared to average earnings.
